Review:Directed by Richard Marquand and written by Lawrence Kasdan et al, Return of the Jedi is an action, mystery and science fiction movie where the powers of evil led by Darth Vader and the Emperor create a second death star. However the space traveller Han Solo is still numb and cold in Carbonite and on display at the fortress. This film shows the conflict between the brave agitators and Vader’s army, while Lando and the agitators administer an ethereal fight on the Death Star et al.

Critics believe that a handful of eye-striking action scenes are breakthroughs with respect to the cinematic graphics and that the film has exploding energy and the perfect sound. The film is also considered to be fairly fast paced for its 133 minute length. The conclusion of the movie is liked by many and is hard to resist. Also Vader’s story arc stands out alone with respect to its climax.

The audience loved the movie as well and it is considered amongst the best Star Wars movies of all times. The movie is regarded to have the perfect ending to a brilliant trilogy. This saga is a marvellous achievement and an incredible one.

Written By: Jim Henson (characters), Jason Segel (screenplay)

Cast: Amy Adams, Jason Segel and Chris Cooper

Movie Release Date: November 23, 2011

Review:

The Muppets movie for the year 2011 may really be the greatest muppet movie ever made. It revolves around the muppets’ struggle to save their memorable theater. As usual, Kermit is the lead and will be the one to unite the muppets again to save their Muppet Studios in bright Hollywood. To be able to do that, they will be helped by some friends and they will put together a new show to be able to garner 10 million people to pay and contribute to the money they need to raise and all will be well.

Jason Segel is starring in the movie but what could be surprising is that he is also writing it. Though he is not entirely responsible for the screenplay, his team up with Nicholas Stoller, who was also with Segel in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, can be a blast. The director of The Muppet Movie is James Bobin, who has not much theatrical experience, yet he did wrote, produced, and directed a series of episodes aired in HBO. His projects include Da Ali G Show and Flight of the Conchords. So we know that he has a funny side.

After his stint at Forgetting Sarah Marshall, this is the second attempt of Jason Segel in screenwriting. We will see if he has enough potential to go on for succeeding movies. But since Segel has already proved that he is a talented actor, then it is not difficult to see him as a talented screenwriter. Plus, he is a hardworking guy

Review:

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn is a tale of adventure. It’s about a young reporter who follows potential stories wherever it may lead him. His passion about this job is so strong that he tails the stories even if it will lead him to earth’s boundaries.

Tintin is derived from a popular Belgian cartoon character, and has been renowned for many years. He also has Snowy, a white dog, and they encounter a mad scientist, a lunatic pirate captain and twins. What a horrifying thought.

This film is the first of a potential and planned trilogy. Icon Steven Spielberg will direct this first one and the succeeding film is planned to be directed by its co-producer, which is Lord of the Rings genius Peter Jackson. And because of the technology that James Cameron has brought to us through Avatar, The Secret of the Unicorn will also use the same motion capture technology. This 3D will be so good so we can expect the most stunning visuals that was ever used in a children’s movie. Though there is no word yet who the third film’s director will be, the filmmakers should be careful to choose because that person will have to live up to a Spielberg and a Jackson.

This project seems like it is a film that will feed the souls of Jackson and Spielberg first before they consider their pockets. While it also looks like it is a project for a living, their new technology is something to play with.

Father of the Bride II (1995)

Father of the bride part iiGenre: Comedy|Family|Romance

Running Time: 106 min

Directed By: Charles Shyer

Written By:  Albert Hackett, Frances Goodrich

Cast:  Steve Martin, Diane Keaton and Martin Short

Movie Release Date:  8 December, 1995

Review:

The mere mention of the title “Father of the Bride” brings a smile to almost every face, so its sequel was sure to evoke the same emotion. It doesn’t fall too far from the original, but maybe does not cause the same reactions as the first.

In  this Martin (as George Banks) is just coming to terms with his daughter’s wedding and is not quite ready for any change in  status yet. So the fact that he is going to be not just a grandfather, but a father once again has put his life in overdrive. With many of the cast members from the original repeating their original roles, it is certainly a movie with a lot of potential. In essence sometimes, this movie is more into exploring relationships and family values than actually providing humor. But George’s apparent mid life crisis does cause for a few hilarious situations. It was also felt that the character of Eugene Levy as the greedy Arab was an unnecessary addition to the cast and could have been done without.

It is a fu upbeat film, strongly based on family values and principles and also delves into the great bond between a father and daughter wit too much drama and high strung emotion. Now that is a feel good movie and plot if there is any.

Review:

Directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Melissa Mathison, the movie E.T- Extra-Terrestrial is a science fiction and fantasy movie made especially for kids and family, and stars Henry Thomas, Drew Barrymore and Peter Coyote. This movie has a very unique story which makes people think for themselves and lets them imagine beyond the impossible.

Elliot is a perfectly normal boy until he meets this alien who he names E.T.  Elliot is brave enough to keep the alien under wraps and fights all obstacles that come his way. Running Time:  113 minutes

Directed By: Charles Martin Smith

Written By: Karen Janszen, Noam Dromi

Cast: Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd and Harry Connick Jr.

Movie Release Date: September 23, 2011

Review:

Dolphins Tale tells the chronicle of a boy who discovers a wounded dolphin and he was able to get various vets and his parents and some marine biologists to assist him in saving the creature. The dolphin apparently injured herself and lost her tail because of a crab trap, so the kid convinces doctors to create a prosthetic limb so that the dolphin can survive in the water.

Charles Martin Smith directed this movie, and he also made Air Bud. Because of that we know that the story will be told well. Kris Kristofferson, Ashely Judd, Harry Connick Jr., and Morgan Freeman are all in the film, so the movie will turn out to be good. We can actually expect the movie to be decent because of these stars’ presence.

While it is not yet certain, who will play which part, here is the initial casting: the vet is to be played by Harry Connick Jr., the mother of the boy is Ashely Judd, and the doctor who will save the life of the dolphin making prosthetic limbs will be Morgan Freeman.

It is actually surprising that the film is based on a true story, and will be shot in 3D. For a movie that is not set out to have too much action in it, making it 3D is a step-up the typical filmmaking.

Some of the movies related to this are Air Bud, Flipper, and Free Willy.

Hugo (2011)

Synopsis:

The Paris train station is the home of a young orphan who unwraps a mystery that screws up his secret life. The screenplay of John Logan makes this GK Films production something to watch out for, with the cast as brilliant as well–Sacha Baron Cohen, Ben Kingsley, Christopher Lee, and Jude Law.

Genre: Adventure | Drama | Family

Running Time: minutes

Distributor: Paramount Studios

Directed By: Martin Scorsese

Written By: John Logan (screenplay), Brian Selznick (book)

Cast: Asa Butterfield, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Lee

Movie Release Date: November 23, 2011

Review:

Hugo Cabret narrates an orphan boy’s story of sleeping in the surrounds of a railroad terminal and mending the numerous clocks.

The movie is geared up in thirties French capital, and the child, who’s ingenious and able of repairing and mechanically skillful, bumps into and mends an android, who turns out to be something of a replacement dad to him. The movie is adapted from Brian Selznicka’s book, so if you wish the entire story spoiled, you can search for it online.

The brilliant Martin Scorsese will be directing the film. Judging from the director of the movie itself, we can expect that this will also be a stunning one just like those that he handled before– the famous Leonardo DiCaprio movies. This film will perhaps be as good as those he previously directed.

John Logan wrote the screenplay, who also wrote Rango, which was also a great film. And Rango was not just a kid’s story, it has a deeper meaning so the adults liked it too. John Logan was also responsible for The Aviator, Sweeney Todd, Gladiator, and The Last Samurai.

The book’s background has this: it won the 2008 Caldecott Medal, and it was the first time that a novel got that award. The book also had illustrations and it was a pretty good book, if ever you decide to read it.

With the names of the filmmakers being Martin Scorsese and John Logan, there’s no doubting that this film will be great.
