I Love You, Man (2009)
Director: John Hamburg
Cast: Paul Rudd, Rashida Jones, Sarah Burns, Greg Levine, Jaime Pressly
This is an adorable story about Peter Klavin, who has always been close with girls and never really had any male friends. When he proposes to his girlfriend Zooey, played by the beautiful Rashida Jones, he realizes he needs a best man. Thus begins his quest to find a male friend, bond with him, and ask him to be his best man.
The friend he finds and bonds with is Sidney Fife, whom is attractive to Peter because he seems to have no reservations about anything. Sidney lives life to the fullest, and Peter is soon hooked. The subsequent situation snowballs in to quite a ride for Peter, even at the potential detriment of his relationship.
The films supporting cast is stellar, including Jon Favreau and Jaime Pressly as the beautiful and extremely volatile couple who cannot stop fighting and seem to hate each other. J.K. Simons and Andy Samberg play Peter’s father and brother, who apparently have been best friends without Peter even knowing. An ongoing presence by Lou Ferrigno is hilarious, and not a single piece of this film is out of place or unnecessary. The cast, the plot, and the acting piece together perfectly for a very funny film. Great for everyone.
