Review:
In Time stars Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried. It is a sci-fi movie that is a superb metaphor to what the society is experiencing everyday. In the film, time is money. And they have a literal approach to it, since in the film, the people have to work for time to keep them alive. Everybody only lives up to 25 years old. But if you have the money to buy the time to go on living, then you can live forever. This idea is a great association to what the world is– the rich can live longer because they can buy the medical needs and necessities required to live a better life, while the poor, on the other hand, suffer immensely because they cannot even afford to buy their own medicines.
The story is superb in injecting an action drama to the theme of sci-fi content. Justin Timberlake’s performance is also so superb that he can now be accounted for as an action star. He greatly improved from his performance in the Social Network, where he starred as the Napster. Amanda Seyfried on the other hand, is still as stunning as she was in Red Riding Hood. Being the heroine in this movie, she played Justin Timberlake’s partner in providing the rest of the poor people the time that they need. Together for a good cause, we will see if they become successful in giving away life.
