Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)
Director: Steven Spielberg
Cast: Harrison Ford, Sean Connery, Alison Doody
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the third edition of the Indiana Jones franchise, made its way to the theatres on the 24th of May, 1989. Directed by Steven Spielberg, this American adventure film is co-written by the executive producer George Lucas himself. The previous edition not living up to the expectations with mixed reviews, this Harrison Ford starrer sure took five long years for director Steven Spielberg to come up with a script that is worthy of a trilogy.
In this edition, Harrison Ford who plays Indiana Jones goes in search of his father, Henry Jones Sr. played by Sean Connery. Henry Jones Sr. is kidnapped by the Nazis when he goes on an expedition to do a detailed research about the Holy Grail. On learning about his father’s abduction, Indiana Jones leaves on a rescue operation through the tunnels in Venice and enters the Nazis castle on the Austrian-German border. He then sneaks in and successfully finds his dad locked up in prison. The film has a quest within a quest where they take us to the early days of Indiana Jones and certain life changing situations that are a treat to watch! Spielberg’s made no mistake this time around with the third edition earning positive reviews and became a really big commercial success of its times.
