Review:

This movie is a version of the classic Robin Hood stories. Directed by Kevin Reynolds, this drama showcases action, romance and adventure together. The main roles have been played by Kevin Costner, Morgan Freeman, Alan Rickman and Nick Brimble. The performances of Alan Rickman and Morgan Freeman in the movie have been appreciated. Released in 1991, this Warner Bros. Pictures production was a box office hit.

This is the story of Robin, the good-guy thief. The story unfolds as Robin fights the Sheriff of Nottingham, (played by Alan Rickman). The gang of robbers, under Robin’s aid tries to overcome the shameful evils of the villain with assistance from Little John (played by Nick Brimble). Robin kills the Sheriff in the end. The peasants of Nottingham castle are rescued and Robin unites with his lady love and gets married to her.

Although a hit, this movie received an unappealing rating from the New York Times. It showcases violence, and may not be suited for PG viewing. It is a pretty long (2hour 30 minutes) movie, but those of you keen on watching classical movies can find many appealing and fascinating things in the movie and must give it a watch!
