Review:

The movie Shakespeare in Love is a romantic comedy which is believed to have atinge of realistic connections to the life of our beloved dramatist William Shakespeare. William Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes)is the writer for Philip Henslowe (Geoffrey Rush),the owner of theatre, ‘The Rose’, which is on the verge of closing down because of the creditors. This is not the only issue, suffering of a writer’s block and hence incapable of completing a play successfully Shakespeare is in a precarious situation.

Trying to overcome his break-up with his former flame he creates the tragedy Romeo and Juliet. Even though he doesn’t complete the play he starts auditioning for the character of Romeo. The lovely lady Viola De Lesseps (Gwyenth Paltrow) a devoted theatre goer, regarded scandalous and disgraceful disguises herself as a male and wins the role of Romeo in the play. Shakespeare sees right through the deception but plays along with it. He utilizes the time to nurture the romance between the two of them till she is finally given in marriage to someone else. Regardless of the circumstances the play turns out to be a big hit and a tragedy for all times.
