Star Trek Generations is the most ambitious film among the Star Trek saga. It is the adaptation of the television series that was aired during that time period. This 1994 movie was awaited by the die-hard fans of Star Trek since it was the bridge between the Starship enterprise and the real world. This science fiction is the seventh installment of the series and features the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The plot of this film is about the maiden voyage of the Starship USS Enterprise-B that is running on a skeleton crew and has several major subsystems that are still under construction. During the venture, the Enterprise gets into a rescue mission to save two ships from the destructive energy ribbon during which only a few refugees could be rescued. However, the Enterprise gets caught in the ribbon itself and Captain Kirk tries to alter the behavior of the deflector shields to save the Enterprise. Unfortunately, the engineering hull makes contact with the energy ribbon and causes major damage.

The movie received mixed reviews and is appreciated for the original story line, first rate special effects and superior quality acting by all the lead roles. However, it is over budgeted and the length of it is a bit too long.
