Step Up 3D is the third Step Up movie, except that because it’s in 3D when you wear your special glasses to watch it, it’ll feel like the actors are dancing on you rather than in front of you. Directed by Jon Chu, this latest version features Alyson Stoner, Sharni Vinson, Harry Shum Jr., Rick Malmbri, Adam G. Sevani, and Ally Maki. A New York Street dancing crew works together with an NYU freshman to try and defeat some of the best hip hop dancers in the world. Of course there’s romance because it’s a Step Up movie, and of course there’s some sort of dance related betrayal because it’s a dance movie. With that in mind Step Up 3D has more to offer visually than it does plotwise, which is fine since most o the people who will be watching will be focusing on what new dance steps the choreographers could concoct to make the third film stand out from the first two.
