Terminator Salvation, the 4th and concluding part of the Terminator series till date, was released in the United States and Canada on May 21, 2009.  Releases subsequently followed in early June in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.  The film achieved more success internationally.
This action packed science fiction sequel is directed by McG, screen play by John Brancato and Michael Ferris, music by Danny Elfman and Brad Fiedel (theme), and distributed by Warner Bros Pictures in the United States, and Columbia Pictures internationally.  The film stars Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin and Helena Bonham Carter.
As a departure from the past, Terminator Salvation was in year 2018 with no time wraps, and centers on the fighters of human Resistance against Skynet and its killing machines.  The film introduces T-800 Model 101 Terminator.
Although the film was nominated for different categories of Satellite Award, Teen Choice Awards, Saturn Awards, and Scream Awards, it generally received negative criticism.  Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a paltry 32% rating based on 250 reviews.  Michael Rechtshaffen wrote in the Hollywood Reporter that the film missed Arnold Schwarzenegger and that it lacks an element of drama. Claudia Puig of USA Today opined that the film was predictable. However A.O. Scott of New York Times felt that the film had a brute integrity.
Arnold Schwarzenegger however, termed the film great.
