Review:Most of the times, marriage seems like the best thing in the world. The most special day in a person’s life. But it may not seem all that pleasant if the wife is murdered. And can become a nightmare if the husband is wrongly accused of murdering her.
That is what exactly happens to Dr. Richard Kimble played by Harrison Ford who is a well known surgeon in Chicago. When Richard comes to know that his wife, Helen played by Sela Ward is brutally murdered in her house, he is devastated.
But it comes in as a rude shock when instead of the police trying to investigate and find the murderer, accuse him for the act. Kimble is tried in the court and convicted and finally sentenced to death.
But as luck would have it, on the way to prison, Kimble’s transport crashes and he then escapes. Determined to find his wife’s killer, he himself takes up the investigation. Meanwhile, officer Samuel Gerard takes charge of the case and is ready to hunt down Richard and bring him to justice.
The fugitive is an on the edge action thriller and keeps you glued to the seat all the time. Harrison Ford as usual plays his role to perfection. Tommy Lee Jones looks excellent as the Cop trying to bring the accused down. Tommy won an Oscar for his role in the best supporting actor category.
The fugitive was also nominated in six other categories by the academy, including best Picture.
