Steig Larsson wrote the book, Jonas Frykberg wrote the screenplay, and now thanks to director Daniel Alfredson all of their visions have coalesced into a 2009, R-rated, Swedish thriller. Lisbeth is a computer hacker and she’s extremely good at her job. That is, If you can call hacking a job. With the help of Mikael (a journalist) she investigates a sex trafficking ring. But something goes wrong and in the middle of their search three people are murdered. Lisbeth is blamed for the deaths and only Mikael knows what needs to be done to clear her name. Noomi Rapace plays Lisbeth Salander and Michael Nyqvist plays Mikael Blomkvist. Also starring in the film is Lena Endre, Sofia Ledarp, Micke Spreitz, and Yasmine Garbi. The Girl Who Played with Fire was written by the same man who brought you The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The film is the second in Larsson’s trilogy and together they weave a dark and unique story both on screen and off.
