The last Airbender made waves on television screens all over the country. The last Airbender was one of those cartoons that started out foreign but managed to be adopted rather quickly into the fold of American culture. The plotline is a bit more complex than what most cartoon series are used to, but the gist of it is this. There are four nations that make a habit of fighting amongst themselves. Each of those nations is represented by one of the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire, and Air). The people in each possess powers that coincide with their nation’s respective element. Aang is an Avatar, one of the last Airbenders, and now, Aang believes that it’s his responsibility to make sure that the war hungry Fire clan doesn’t take over by gaining dominion over the Water, Earth, and Air nations.  The fact that the director for this film is M. Night Shyamalan is a point in its favor, and having a cast like Noah Ringer, Dev Patel, Nicola Peltz, Jackson Rathbone, and Shaun Toub doesn’t hurt things either.
