The Rock on a Rescue Mission

The Rundown is a rescue mission in the Amazon jungle drama starring the Rock. The movie directed by Peter Berg was released on September 26, 2003. The other big name in the movie is Christopher Walken. The movie revolves around Beck’s (The Rock) attempt to rescue Travis Walker(Seann William Scott) who refuses to be rescued and gets involved in the search for Gato a golden relic which will save El Dorado( Hell Dorado) from Hatcher’s(Christopher Walken) clutches. Beck is a bounty hunter who wants to retire and open a restaurant. His boss Billy Walker agrees to let him go only if he rescues his son from South America.
Rescue within a Rescue
Beck does his job pretty quickly and is about to leave for the USA on a plane when his conscience makes him go back and rescue Mariana (Rosario Dawson) from Hatcher. Beck has to take up guns which he had renounced during the course of his mission. The scenes between Beck and Travis are intended to be funny but fall a bit flat.
The movie is one of the better movies featuring the Rock did not really do as well as expected grossing almost 81 million dollars less than the 85 million production budget. It has a surprise cameo appearance by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
